Simone Arianne Biles was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 14, 1997. Simone and her three siblings were in and out of foster care throughout their childhood. Her grandma began taking an active part in her upbringing in 2000, and Biles grew up in the Houston suburbs at this time. Simone was raised in a Catholic environment and has deep roots in Belize because her mother is Belizean. She still has Belizean citizenship.
Simone was determined for a career as a professional gymnast from an early age. She was then removed from class and homeschooled for the remainder of her secondary schooling. This allowed her to train 33% more, and before she started university, Simone was participating at the top level in the Olympics.
Biles began her gymnastics career at a young age, and by the age of eight, she was working with trainers such as Aimee Boorman. She competed in the American Classic in Houston when she was 14 years old. She came in third place. In 2012, she won the American Classic in Huntsville. She was chosen to the US Junior National Team that year. In 2013, she made her senior international debut in the American Cup before going on to compete in the City of Jesolo Trophy and assist the US team win a gold medal.
After a bad showing at the 2013 US Classic, Márta Károlyi invited Simone to a private camp, and the young gymnast also began training with a sports psychologist. Better performances followed, and Simone was picked to compete in the World Championships. Another strong showing at the 2013 Artistic Gymnastics Championships helped her secure a first-place result. By this stage, the 16-year-old was already proven to be a remarkable talent, outperforming far more seasoned international gymnasts.
Biles, along with other prominent American gymnasts, represented the United States in the 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, where she won the competition for the third time in a row. Simone notably announced her departure from Nike and signing with Athleta in April 2021, only three months before the 2020 Olympics. Athleta agreed to host a national show for Simone following the Olympics, in direct rivalry with a similar display normally conducted by USA Gymnastics. Simeone allegedly departed Nike because the corporation no longer fit her principles. She was particularly concerned about Nike’s track record of scandals, employee complaints, and other troubles that have plagued the leading sportswear firm in recent years.

The Olympic gold winner, 24, and the Houston Texans safety, 25, had been flirting and FaceTiming for a few weeks when Adria seized Biles’ phone during a discussion and invited him to a lake home getaway, according to the magazine. He brought Zeus, his English bulldog, and Lilo, his future girlfriend’s French bulldog. Owens was soon invited to the Biles family’s Sunday meals.
He previously told Texas Monthly magazine that he was unaware of Biles’ athletic skills when she first approached him.
“I have no idea who she was,” he said. “I’d never heard of her before, and when I told her that, that was one of the things she loved.”
“This was a match made in heaven,” he continued. “There’s no better person for me. She loves me, she’s so affectionate. I just love that. And it’s just intoxicating seeing how much work she puts into everything.” This is all what he said.
