Sherlock Holmes is a British crime television show based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective novel of the same name.
The first series was broadcasted in July, and August 2010 on the BBC. 13 episodes have been produced so far, with four three-part series airing from 2010 to 2017.
The series has starred Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, Rupert Graves, Una Stubbs, Mark Gatiss, Louise Brealey, Andrew Scott, and Amanda Abbington from its very first season.
Benedict Cumberbatch played the role of the main character Sherlock Holmes, and Martin Freeman played the character of Doctor John Watson.

The season finale “The Final Problem” introduced us to the long-lost sister of Sherlock and Mycroft, Eurus.
She is revealed to be a master manipulator who enjoys toying with the emotions of both her brothers for her amusement.
Whether she is an accomplice of Moriarty or has some hidden motives which fuel her actions are yet to be revealed.
She was hauntingly portrayed by actress Sian Brooke in Season 4.
Sherlock Season 5 Release Date
The rumors for season 5 have been doing rounds from 2018. But there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding this. The show will most probably air in 2022 or 2023.
Both the lead actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are currently busy with other projects thus the production of the show won’t start any time soon.
Meanwhile, the show creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gattis are busy with the filming of a new BBC show Dracula.
