Sarah Paulson is creating her grand return to American Horror Story this year.
The Celebrity affirmed her appearance in season 10 of FX’s anthology series during the Television Critics Assn. press tour on Thursday. “I can affirm that I’m in next season,” Paulson told TheWrap. “I don’t have any idea what it’ll be… But I’m coming back as a guest part, and I will be a central character.”
Season 10 was previously greenlit to get ten episodes, but the theme, title, and throw (aside from Paulson) have yet to be disclosed.
Earlier on Thursday, FX declared that American Horror Story was revived for three additional seasons, continuing the show through at least 13. But Paulson does not know what her future will probably be in any of those seasons, only that she’s starring 10.
“God willing, I have no idea,” Paulson said. “However, I do know that I Did ask Ryan when the query was asked to me, could I say that I was coming back? And he said ‘You can say’ So yes, I will be back on American Horror Story.”
Paulson didn’t look in the latest season of American Horror Story branded 1984, which surprised fans who expect to observe the veteran in the anthology series as often as regular Murphy collaborator Jessica Lange.
What’s interesting to notice is that Murphy has confirmed the Coven witches from the year, last seen in season 8 Apocalypse, will return at a future year. “The witches will return,” Murphy said.
“Not [in season 9], but we have something entertaining planned.” Can Paulson be reprising her role of Cordelia Foxx as soon as season 10, or will buffs need to wait longer to see that happen finally?
American Horror Story year ten is set to premiere this season on FX.
