Santa Clara Adults to Get COVID-19 Vaccination Before Christmas

Santa Clara Urges Citizens to Get Covid Vaccination

Santa Clara Citizens Must Get Covid Vaccine Before the Holidays

Before the holidays, health officials in Santa Clara County are asking all eligible people to obtain a COVID-19 booster vaccination.

The decision follows the lifting of government restrictions on Pfizer and Moderna booster doses for persons over 65, those with health concerns, and those who work in high-risk jobs.

At the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, eligible citizens like Roy Scialabba may be vaccinated.

Scialabba is counting down the days before his 80th birthday celebration, but he wants to be stress-free. To do so, he’s pulling out his sleeve once more, this time for a COVID-19 booster shot.

“I assumed that was part of the bargain,” he explained, “because once you start something, you have to finish it, and I want to protect everyone.”

“I’d like to defend myself.”

County health officials want to make sure that everyone learns that the booster vaccination is now available to everyone over the age of 65 and those who are at risk.

Dr. Marty Fenstersheib of the Santa Clara County Public Health Department remarked, “Everyone is very much qualified for a booster.”

“We want everyone to have a safe Christmas season, and we want to warn people that their immunity with today’s immunizations is decreasing all the time.”

How Long Will It Take to Get A Covid Vaccinations?

It takes one to two weeks for a person to have complete protection after receiving a booster vaccination. This is why health experts urge on being fully protected during holiday travel and gatherings.

“Only 20% of those who need a vaccination have gotten one,” said Dr. Sara Cody, “and it’s critical to get one now before Thanksgiving.”

Although the vaccination may induce a low-grade fever and other minor side effects, experts believe the benefits exceed the dangers.

“It’s far more vital to endure one terrible day in exchange for all those rewards.”
