The season five of Riverdale got the greenlight at the start of the year from the American Broadcaster The CW. But has the show been cancelled or it has been delayed due to corona-virus.
The teen hit Riverdale is now on a short break and it will be returning to the screens in just a matter of weeks. The CW series has now gone from strength to strength since their first debut back in the year 2017. Riverdale has built up a huge and loyal following with just no signs of slowing down.
The CW then renewed Riverdale for the season five in January 2020 with their order being an early one. Mark Pedowitz, who is the head of the network said that time that these are the early orders for the next season give their production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and jumps on hiring the staffs.
Indeed there already has been more discussions about what the fifth season could hold after Riverdale show-runner Roberto Aguire Sacasa previously also revealed at a Comic-Con last year that the show will have to take a new direction.
He also concealed season four would mark a lot of endings for the series’ with their core four graduating from the high school. Then the writer of the series also told the media including Showbiz Junkies: That is if for the high-school, this is it.
He also said that if they are doing school story, if they have ever wanted to do some high-school, then it is this year or bust. So they are really leaning into that thing. This is also bittersweet too. Then he also said that in the senior year, everyone has a different experiences in their high school. But he does things to have this awareness like, Oh next part of my life is then about to start.
