The Pose season 3 trailer is here, giving fans of this popular FX series check out the big finale. The Majority of the celebrities of the last two seasons have been coming for the last dance, such as Mj Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Billy Porter, Ryan Jamaal Swain, and Angel Bismark Curiel. The last season of Pose will start broadcasting on FX on May 2.
Set in the 1980s and early 1990s, Pose concentrates on New York City’s Ballroom culture, where members of the city’s Dark and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities compete in different dancing, fashion, and runway contests. The show follows the members of the House of Evangelista as they compete in the Balls and assist each other through private struggles of love and loss during the AIDS crisis. Pose has earned several accolades over the course of its first two seasons, including a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards.
It was recently announced that Pose’s third season would also be it’s last, and fans will now get a glimpse of this show’s final run at a brand new trailer out of FX. Season 3 seems like it’s going to be filled with the gorgeous style, leading performances, and heavy emotion of the first two seasons, since the cast continues to celebrate each other in the Balls and fight back against public disregard for its AIDS epidemic. While Pose may be ending, its impact will remain. The series was widely renowned for championing Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ musicians on both sides of the camera and for centering the experiences of trans women of colour particularly. Producer Janet Mock has earned special praise for her creative influence on the series, and the total success of Pose is indicative of positive movement toward more inclusive casting and storytelling in Hollywood.
Progress on that front is slow, and it is understandable why many of Pose’s dedicated fans are unwilling to see the series end after season 3. In the minimum, that season 3 has been written with the end in your mind will hopefully lead to a complete and satisfying conclusion. As one of the most revolutionary and beautifully crafted TV shows of the past few years, the show deserves to go out with a bang. Pose yields to FX to begin broadcasting its final season on May 2.
