With the series being released, it makes the reader of the book happy over the fact that their favorite book has finally been adapted. A wave of happiness was seen over the internet in the past weeks and with the criticism being appreciating the series, we know that there is something that holds an incredible story. 

Anyone who has read the book can know the legendary story. The book, authored by Min Jin Lee, has been the best-selling book in the world. Audiences from different parts of the world have read it and rated it with a positive response. When the series was announced, there were serious concerns among the fan because they were scared that the creators might spoil the story through their adaptations. 


We all know that adapting a book is not an easy task. It requires a look of hard work since the readers have already assumed their own story and predicted what everything looks like. Pachinko is a recently announced series that is going to release super soon. Created by Soo Hugh, the series is inspired by the popular book that is written by Min Jin Lee. The book already git so many achievements for its amazing storyline and I think that there is anyone who hasn’t heard about pachinko.

Directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon and stars Youn Yuh-Jung, Lee Min-ho, Jin Ha, and Kim Minha. The series already cast some of the biggest stars and we all know their early works, Being a Korean series, there are high chances for the show to come with great skills. With Korean dramas getting more wider and dense in the audience, many fans are keeping their eye on this series.

 The series is going to release on 25 March 2022 and the fans are glaring at the release date for a long time. Pachinko is already a well-established book and with both, Korean and the readers getting along to watch the series, it is going to be blockbuster hot, Things happened the same when we all predicted about Squid Games.

The story centers around a Korean woman named Sunja. The character is the main protagonist of the story of Pachinko. Youn Yuh-Jung, who played the main role in the series, will play the role of Sunja. She is from Yeongdo-gu, Busan, South Korea, and wanted to live a better life in her town. Youn Yuh-Jung has amazingly played her role. 

Along with this, we have Kim Min-ha playing the teenage Sunja and Jeon Yu-na as childhood Sunja. For the male lead, we have Lee Min-ho is playing the role of Koh Hansu. He is a Korean man who lives in Osaka, Japan. Jin Ha is playing the role of Solomon Baek, Yoon Seo-ho is playing the role of teenage Solomon. In the next few lines, I’ll be mentioning all those characters that are possibly going to return in the series.

Pachinko Plot: What is the Story about?

The show is inspired by the famous book Pachinko and as far we know, the series will follow the same storyline. Following around the four families, who are dominated by the japan family. As for now, the series has already released its official synopsis which reads, “The hopes and dreams of four generations of a Korean immigrant family, beginning with a story of a forbidden romance that leads to a sweeping saga taking place in Korea, Japan, and America”

With this, we can assume that the series is going to follow around the hardship of a person in his life. Being a Korean show, the fans have already put their huge expectations on this show. We have to wait for a while to get more details. Since the release date is super near, you have to wait for a while to see the series.

Pachinko is yet to release on the screen. I know that many people are already waiting for the series to get released but so far, there have been no updates, the story will be amazing since it is imported from huge a popular book. 

Minha, the creator of the show has also revealed his time in the show. In an interview, he said, “I was aware of the huge scale of the show”. 

For him, this was something very big but as the star was already aware of the popularity of the show, we can assume that many things are going to happen. He further exceed and said, “For me, it was important to remain focused on the story itself. I was constantly thinking about how I should convey to the audience Sunja’s feelings and emotions,” 

Talking further about the interview, they said, “I had several conversations with her. She helped me immerse myself into the role and challenged me. I could have gone in for filming thinking about my character ten times, but she would ask me questions, and I had to make sure I’d thought about it 20 times!” 

Minha and Min Ho, both have shared their thoughts regarding the show. But writing this down, they said about how they have pressure to make the series the same as per the fan’s thoughts, “I read the novel before I read the script, and I tried to keep a balance to focus equally on both,” 

Minha further continued and said, “To bring Sunja alive, I had a lot of discussions with the directors and writers, and went on to add my interpretation of the role with their inputs,” 

Min Ho has also explained how he was so passionate about the role that he has invested most of his time reading the novel. Through this, he was trying to balance the story and manipulate himself to think and act like the character. Since the role was so big, it was their duty to make themself act like him.
