Ozark Season 4 Updates: The third season of Ozark was that the series’s best yet–volatile ending included. With 2 seasons under its belt to establish who Marty Byrde, Wendy Byrde, Ruth Langmore, and the rest of the gang are as characters, the third season allowed the show to actually settle in and inform a thrilling, thrilling, and well-paced offence narrative.
Jason Bateman, that not only stars as Marty Byrde but also directs a variety of episodes in each season, recently talked to Collider, and revealed that while the show is surely picking up steam, he also does not see it lasting indefinitely.
Bateman stated in the interview he’s always operated under the idea that Ozark would run for”three seasons, four seasons, five seasons, something like this,” and “it doesn’t feel like it is a 12-season series .”
If the show were to just operate for four or five seasons, then that would mean any future seasons of Ozark would be the home stretch.
Will there be a Season 4 of Ozark?
Netflix has not officially renewed Ozark for a fourth season nonetheless. But based on the series is, that seems to be just a technicality now. Speaking to Collider, Bateman revealed that showrunner Chris Mundy is currently plotting out using a fourth season would entail if the official call was created.
“There is not a formal pickup for Season 4,” Bateman said. “We’re all working under the hope it will occur. It’s the norm to wait for a show to premiere and collect the data for months two, three, and four and see if there’s an audience there to warrant an extra season of Netflix.
So, I guess we’re in that period right now. But, I know [showrunner] Chris Mundy and his staff are hard at work figuring out exactly what that fourth season would be if that official pick-up lands.”
Ozark Season 4 might be the start of the end
As Bateman alluded in the exact same Collider interview, Ozark hasn’t been thought to be a show that would persist for a decade or anywhere close. If his notion of 3-4-5 seasons for Ozark becomes fact, that implies that a fourth year, theoretically may be the end–or at least could begin to establish the end.
“If you keep going to get a whole lot more, you are likely to go over the cliff, or up over the peak of the mountain and you end up jumping the shark,” he explained. “So, given the intelligence of Marty Byrde and Wendy Byrde, if they keep going at this pitch for much longer, they’re going to be killed or put in jail. The alternate is to flatten out you don’t end up jumping the shark, but then you start stalling for further episodes and seasons. So, I am not certain where and when it’ll end, but given their intellect, it does not feel like it’s a 12-season show.”
Who will be in the season’s cast?
We do not know which characters could be added to get a third season. But given we can expect to see many of the regulars return. Meaning Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, Laura Linney as Wendy Byrde, Sofia Hublitz as Charlotte Byrde, Skylar Gaertner as Jonah Byrde, Julia Garner as Ruth Langmore, Charlie Tahan as Wyatt Langmore, Lisa Emery as Darlene Snell, Jessica Frances Dukes as Special Agent Maya Miller, and Felix Solis as Omar Navarro.
When will the fourth Season of Ozark come out?
Given the fourth season of Ozark technically hasn’t even been ordered yet, and everything is also closed down on account of this COVID-19 pandemic, it is incredibly difficult to forecast when a fourth year of Ozark could emerge.
But we can operate based on schedules, and assume that the series, at least now, is writing on a customary schedule, since they wouldn’t be in production right now.
While the next season appeared to get a spring 2020 release the first two seasons had in 2017 and 2018. Based on this, it’d be reasonable to anticipate a fourth season of Ozark in Spring 2021 in the earliest, but with creation so uncertain for everything going forward, you are going to have to take that with a grain of salt.
