“Sometimes, if you don’t move forward, you die.”
The Netflix drama Ozark is set to stream its third season soon, and it’s unlikely to lose its “Breaking Bad in the Midwest” feel.
That’s certainly one conclusion you could pull from this trailer, which manages to highlight this show’s unique identity while still cautioning viewers to its good Bad vibe.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the show created by Jason Bateman, here’s the series synopsis from Netflix:
Across two seasons so far, tense, chilling and violent shenanigans have happened. All of them working up to this upcoming season, which looks set to grip us with its nail-biting moments as tension increases and the stakes rise.
The trailer also features Laura Linney as Bateman’s wife, Wendy. She gets exciting, foreboding lines like, “Sometimes, if you don’t move forward, you die” in addition to coolly pulling a very large gun on her husband at one point.
The casino styled sequences in the trailer have done nothing to quench the growing curiosity of viewers. It certainly reminds us of the spectacular James Bond movie “Casino Royale”.
There is no doubt it’s getting real. The explosions and beatings later in the trailer only emphasize that impression. It seems the season is rolling in one direction only, gloom. The trailer has just sky-rocketed us viewer’s excitement.
Previous seasons 1 and 2 of Ozark are available for streaming now on Netflix. Season 3 will be released on March 27 this year. The wait will end soon.
