New God Of War PS5 Game Recent Rumors Debunked By Cory Barlog

Given the wild critical and commercial success of God Of War on PS4, it’s not a stretch to suggest that a sequel is in the works. Some, however, have recently suggested that the game is coming sooner than one might think. Recently, for instance, YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead suggested in a video that the next God of War would be revealed in the rumored August State of Play and that it would be releasing in 2021.

As many predicted, however, there doesn’t seem to be much truth to that rumor. God of War director Cory Barlog recently took to Twitter, and though he did not directly refer to the rumors in questions, he made it very clear that the talk of God of War 2 being revealed in August doesn’t hold much water.

Developers SIE Santa Monica is recruiting for development (presumably for the next God of War), while PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan has suggested that there are many more unannounced PS5 games still to be unveiled. So God of War 2 (or 5) is definitely coming… just not any time soon.
