Players are coming back to The Witcher 3 and it makes 14th most played game on Steam.
The Witcher 3: Wild hunt was launched back in the year 2015 to widespread acclaim, and now after four years it is getting a big boost in players after the premiere of The Witcher Tv series in Netflix.
The reaction to The Witcher has been mixed from the fans but it seems that it is hitting the right notes for its existing fans of the video game and the book series.
The Witcher debuted in Netflix just a few days back and it immediately became a huge topic of conversation around the world. But there seems to be one problem after all that a lot of people seem to have with the show is the vast amount of Witcher lore that newcomers to the series may be struggling with.
About three decades of history since the first short stories were published and it is no surprise that some people feel a little left in the dark, especially for those who are not already familiar with the characters and events of The Witcher books and the games too.
However, all that dense backstory does seem to be encouraging some of the fans to dive back into The Witcher 3 or explore the game for the first time.
As of December 24th, The Witcher 3 is the 14th most played game on Steam, according to Valve’s own Statistics.
The Witcher eclipsed 50000 concurrent players steam alone which seems to be far more than 600000 players that the chart-topping Counter-Strike: Global Offensive regularly archives, but it is not bad for a four-year-old game with no multiplayer component.
It seems that the new show sparked their interest in Geralt’s story once again no matter what they felt about Netflix’s adaptation.
