The Witcher is a fantasy web drama series. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich creates it. The idea of the series comes from the book The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski. It is the third version of the book. The Witcher has also released as a video game.
The Witcher is set to release on 20th December on Netflix. The show gives a Game of Thrones vibe; maybe it will be as grand as it as well.
Netflix is confident in the show and has renewed it for the second season, even before the premiere of the first season.
Production for season 2 began in early 2019 in London. It will have eight episodes, and it might premiere in 2021.
The story revolves around a solitary monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, who kills a monster for money. He wants to find his place in the world. He thinks that humans are wicked than a beast. In the trailer, he goes on to tell a story that elves taught human to turn chaos into magic. In return, humans slaughtered the elves.
A young princess crosses his path. She is sent to him by her dying mother. The princess has a dark secret. With a powerful sorceress, they go around the continent.
Henry Cavill plays Geralt of Rivia. Freya Allen plays the Cintran Princess Ciri, and Anya Chalotra plays sorceress Yennefer’s role.
Tomek Baginski, an executive producer for the series, revealed that Triss and Vasemir would also be there for the series.
These characters are not significant. Fans were wondering what role will the secondary characters play in the series and Comicbook asked Tomek Baginski this question.
Tomek said that one of the two is a supplementary character, and the other one is prominent. He did not say who’s who.
Both characters do not feature much in the book. But the adaption will change that. On checking the cast list for each of the eight episodes, Anna Shaffer is in all of the eight episodes. She plays the role of Triss.
There is no mention of Vasemir. It is possible that the actor for the character is yet to be added. But there is still a possibility that Vasemir will be mentioned but not shown throughout the series.
