The first season was exciting and introduced to its audience an exciting storyline but it’s the second season left the audience on the edge of their seats. At the end of season 2, the kids and parents split apart thus this cliffhanger ending leaves several storylines up in the air without any clues.

From what has been shown, Robinson hadn’t come across a problem they couldn’t solve together. Hereby conforming a daunting challenge coming their way. The roots of the plot of a potential third season can be traced back to the first season when the producer first came across the idea of plotting season one of this science fiction Netflix reimagining.

In an interview with the producers, Kevin Burns and the casting crew, it was revealed that they were watching the old episode of the series and episode 1’s famous line ” Hello stranger ” caught their attention. In that particular episode, the Robinson family had encountered a famous astronaut named Jimmy Hapgood( played by Warren Oates) who disappeared on a mission to Saturn.

Thus John and Maureen Robinson ponder upon the idea that Hapgood could take their kids back to earth. However, the mere idea of separating themselves from their kids made them somewhat uneasy but they also realized that it might turn out to be a better decision for the family and the well being of their kids.

Thus, even though the dates for season three have not yet been revealed we know for a fact that it would be on its way thereby answering the many questions that have been raised during season two’s finale.
