Sony is trying its best to expand its reach with the marvel characters. It started with the Venom in 2018. It was a massive hit with a grossing 856.1 million dollars worldwide.
Next Sony has eyed at Morbius to release this summer. So for Morbius, the living vampire Leto was chosen as the main lead.
About Morbius The living Vampire:
Here Leto plays as the scientist named Micheal Morbius. He has a rare blood disease and he becomes a living vampire while trying to cure himself.
There are many other talented artists in this film. Some of them are Matt Smith as Michael’s friend Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Michael’s fiance Martine Bancroft, Jared Harris as Michael’s mentor and Tyrese Gibson as FBI agent Simon Stroud.
As of now the trailer of the film Morbius has been released. In that trailer, there is a clear connection between spiderman and even there were many references of him though spiderman was not spotted even once in the trailer.
The antagonist to spiderman, Vulture did show up. So there is a lot of link-ups going to show in this movie. So everyone is excited about the release of Morbius.
Words from the actor himself :
On Instagram, it was seen that the actor Leto has posted a picture of him reading Marvel’s Legion of Monsters. It was first published in 2011.
This features Morbius, Werewolf by Night, Living Mummy and Manphibian. He captioned the picture as Research. Back on sets. So it was clear from his post that he was reading to prepare himself for the role of Morbius.
It could hint saying that legion of monsters could appear in his upcoming Morbius. But it is unlikely. Though Sony has the rights over many marvel characters it would not do that.
If it is interested in showing them then Sony would shot a separate film for a legion of monsters alone. As it has that kind of potential. Coming to the Morbius, there are a lot of reshoots happening and even many photos of the shoots have come up.
These pictures ensure that there are many references to the spiderman in this movie. So this would be an eye feast for the viewers.
