Marvel was set to kick off Phase 4 of this Marvel Cinematic Universe that will see the MCU move beyond the film itself, together with TV shows getting an essential part of the future.
However, as soon as Black Widow had been postponed from its initial May 1 release date, it had been clear that the strategies for Phase 4 had to be changed.
Disney declared the start of these changes on April 3 as it was disclosed that Black Widow would be published on November 6, 2020, kickstarting a domino effect for the rest of the Phase 4 movies.
And there have been additional changes in shop after Sony announced that Spider-Man 3 could be postponed also, affecting a couple of different movies in the procedure.
But despite all the delays, MCU Phase 4 will still happen and even though Avengers: Endgame watched the conclusion of favourites such as Iron Man and Captain America, we are set to be released to superheroes never seen before on screen, like Shang Chi and The Eternals.
And we’ll also be reunited with Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man and many more.
Considering all the changes that have happened, since it currently stands, we’re here in order to map the upcoming few years of Marvel films and TV shows.
MCU Phase 4 movies: What do we expect?
As stated previously, Stage 4 will still open (about the pictures side) using Black Widow, that’s set after Captain America: Civil War and promises to show more about her past, on November 6, 2020.
Scarlett Johansson will be joined Rachel Weisz, by Florence Pugh and David Harbour in her solo movie.
Black Widow won’t be the face in Stage 4, however.
We’ve got Holland’s drunken pleas together with Marvel to thank you, in part anyway, for Peter Parker returning to the MCU fold.
They will be joined by brand-new heroes in the Kind of The Eternals, starring the likes of Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Salma Hayek and Kit Harington, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings with Simu Liu and Tony Yeung.
That is it for verified Phase 4 movies, but we do understand that after that exciting crop, we are becoming Dark Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2 and Ant-Man 3. It’s not yet clear if they’re part of Phase 4 however or the beginning of Phase 5.
Also in evolution, but not supported for Phase 4, are Guardians of the Galaxy 3, which surprise Blade Display and MCU films for Fantastic Four and”mutants” (X-Men, basically).
Deadpool was made conspicuous by his lack at the Phase 4 announcement. But, fans have reassured that the Merc with a Mouth will surely return, it may be a time.
MCU Marvel Phase 4 TV shows?
For the first time at the MCU’s history, TV shows may play a big role in the tapestry of earth, much bigger compared to the likes of Representatives of SHIELD and also the Netflix shows did.
The TV side of Stage 4 starts with all The Falcon and the Winter Soldier together with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles. In case it retains its planned August 2020 release date on Disney+, that means it will have the honour of kickstarting Period 4.
At D23 in August 2019, Feige declared three more Disney+ shows: Ms Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk. They were featured on a graphic for Phase 4, thus we assume they’re part of it, but we don’t have any launch dates for them.
As we mentioned earlier, Marvel’s TV shows will play a much larger role at the MCU compared to the likes of Agents of SHIELD along with the Netflix shows ever did.
While we do not anticipate What Should… to have a big influence on the MCU, another shows will directly connect into the movies.
For example, both WandaVision along with Loki will tie into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Expect more personality crossovers and MCU events at the TV shows that we simply don’t know about yet.
