American Singer-songwriter: Mark Lanegan Death : Everything You Need to Know About Him

Mark William Lanegan was an American singer-songwriter, author, and musician who died on February 22, 2022, at the age of 50. The lead singer of early grunge band Screaming Trees, he was also a member of Queens of the Stone Age and The Gutter Twins before breaking out on his own as a solo artist.

As well as releasing 12 solo studio albums, he collaborated with Isobel Campbell and Duke Garwood on three albums, as well as two others. When it comes to his vocals, Lanegan’s baritone has been likened to that of “a three-day beard with the flexibility of moccasin leather” and “Tony, Leonard, and Nick Cave.”

The psychedelic band Screaming Trees, which Lanegan fronted from 1984 until 2000, issued seven studio albums and five EPs before disbanding in 2000. The Winding Sheet, his first solo studio album, was released in 1990 while he was still a member of the band. A total of 10 solo albums followed, each receiving critical acclaim but little financial success. He joined Queens of the Stone Age as a full-time member from 2001 to 2005 during the Songs for the Deaf and Lullabies to Paralyze phases following the breakup of Screaming Trees. I’m curious to know who Mark Lanegan was.
