Margot Elise Robbie is an Australian actress and film producer. She has received nominations for two Academy Awards and five BAFTA Awards.
In 2017, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world, and in 2019, she was ranked among the world’s highest-paid actresses. She is an extremely talented actress.
She is best known for her role Harley Quinn in the movie Suicide Squad. In her latest movie Birds of Prey, she also played the same character. She just nailed her role and proved that she can play any role.
The 29-year-old actress reveals she chose Birds of Prey over Gotham city Sirens because she wanted to showcase lesser-known DC characters.
The actress joined the DC Universe back in the year 2016 in the movie Suicide Squad, a poorly received film but still managed to be a box office hit. The actress’ role as Harley Quinn is often cited as one of the highlights of Suicide Squad.
The movie Birds of Prey follows Harley after she’s broken up with the Joker and is looking for a new place in the world.
She then joins forces with Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) to protect young Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) from the sadistic Roman Sionis/Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).
Margot’s rationale makes perfect sense, though it might not completely appease fans who have taken issue with Harley Quinn joining the Birds of Prey screen when she never did in the comics.
Her thought of putting DC characters in the spotlight is very admirable considering that those of the lesser-known were the women.
While the movie is tracking to have a small opening than other DC movies, the fact that it got made at all is quite the feat.
The fans will be seeing the movie on the big screen next week. Let’s hope the best.
