Manchester United are ready to shed their interest after reportedly being informed that the Paris Saint-Germain striker favors a move.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is considered to be targeting a forwards after the critical harm to Marcus Rashford before the transfer deadline, with Cavani one of the names in their shortlist.

And according to a report in The Sport, United enquired about signing the PSG attacker, but have been advised the Uruguayan favors a move to La Liga.

The report claims the Red Devils were not completely sold on the player because of his age and salary demands.

Cavani’s conclusion is the place to disappoint Chelsea, with Frank Lampard’s side also keen to sign the striker this month later submitting financing rush to PSG.

The Blues have acknowledged they are in dire need of reinforcements in regions.

And with Cavani from the contract at the summer at the capital, Chelsea was attempting to seal a deal which would see Cavani go to Stamford Bridge before the season’s end.

The Times claims Chelsea were willing to pay a loan fee of #5 million and would cover the striker’s #360,000-a-week wages until his contract expires after the campaign.

Speaking last week, Blues boss Lampard refused to rule out a January move for Cavani.

“He is a fantastic player; I played and always adored his mindset and attitude, and his scoring record speaks for itself,” Lampard said.

“I’m not fully conscious of what the situation is, so we’ll see.

“The notion of earning experience is something I am certainly not entirely looking from because occasionally the young players require a small bit of help, and if that is true then that may assist us.”
