Man arrested in connection to Odessa hit and run accident

An arrest has been made by the Odessa Police Department in connection with a hit-and-run accident that happened on Tuesday.

Roberto Solorzano, 27, was detained and accused of causing severe bodily harm in a car collision.


Officers from the Odessa Police Department and Odessa Fire Rescue were sent to a significant collision in the 4300 block of N. Grandview on Tuesday at about 3:33 p.m.

An investigation indicated that Joey Wade Martin, 26, was riding a red and black Kawasaki motorbike northbound in the outside lane.

In the same region, a blue 1988 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Solorzano was also going northward.

Solorzano fled the site of the collision without leaving the information necessary by state law after the truck collided with the motorcyclist.

Martin was airlifted to Medical Center Hospital in critical condition. This is the most up-to-date information we have on the issue. As additional information becomes available, we will update this article.
