Fans have been waiting for more than 17 months for the new season to arrive as the third season released on November 2018. The wait of the fans is finally over as the new season is all set to release on Netflix on April 26 2020.
The official release date was announced on March 19 2020. The production of the series took place in Hungary. The series was first released in America after which it was released in the UK as well.

The first two series comprised of eight episodes in total but since it migrated to the streaming platforms the number of episodes has been increased and newer episodes have been added. The episodes in season4 will be ten-hour long and all the episodes will be released on the streaming platform at the same time. In the upcoming season, a lot more action and conflict will be involved. The episodes have not been named as yet. The series will not air on BBC.

A trailer of the season was dropped by Netflix earlier this April on The Last Kingdom’s Twitter account which said “Your cries have been heard, Arselings! The season 4 trailer is here. Just a little taste of what is to come.” As the dramatic music plays in the background Uhtred is heard saying: “I have lost my home, I have lost my name, I am no longer Uhtred of Bebbanburg.” One of the fans expressed their excitement on Twitter and said “I’ve been doing a marathon of #TheLastKingdom, for the 100th time! I’m so thrilled for season 4. Thanks for the trailer!”.
