Inspector Alicia Sierra in La Casa De Papel (Money Heist) will  switch sides or stay loyal to the police department. Season 5 of Money Heist might be already on its way. As according to a Spanish site Marca, the Netflix hit will get a fifth and sixth season.

And although, it seems that fans will have to settle in for a long wait, but they will be rewarded with not one but two new seasons, i.e., 5th & 6th.

But with the rumors of arrival of the next season going on, the big question arises, will inspector Alicia Sierra switch sides?

Season 4 of the series ended with a shocking cliffhanger, where viewers see Inspector, Alicia Sierra (played by Najwa Nimri), holding a gun to the Professor’s (Álvaro Morte) head before saying “checkmate, you son of a b***h” and it all cuts to black.

Whilst some viewers think there could be some hints, the hardline inspector is about to switch sides in the heist war. On the other hand, the shocking moment left some viewers reeling, as it seemed like Sierra may be actually about to kill the beloved character, the Professor.

And some even suspect of her, looking similar to a former lead gang member, Berlin’s(Pedro Alonso) girlfriend.

However, Sierra’s switching sides option seems like a more valid choice since, it won’t be the first time that an officer has switched from one side to the other.

Raquel Murillo (Itziar Ituño), an inspector of the National Police Corps

In earlier seasons, Raquel Murillo (Itziar Ituño), an inspector of the National Police Corps in season 1 and 2 came back with a new name in season 3, which is Lisbon. She became Lisbon after she fell in love with the Professor and left the police department behind, to be with him.

While it does not seem like Sierra is set to fall in love with anyone in the same way, the pregnant inspector is in a precarious position and the heist team could offer her safety.

Sierra got herself into this “precarious” position when, in order to get Lisbon into the Bank of Spain and get her out of the police custody and from being interrogated (especially by Sierra), the Professor had  to release the truth about Rio’s (Miguel Herrán) torture to the media. Rio was illegally tortured by Sierra and this revelation led her into trouble, risking her job.

However, in the final episode, Sierra betrayed the police force to the press, revealing all of their crimes and effectively ending her career herself.

She then goes on the run, while the police hunt for her before she finds out where the professor is hiding.

Sierra does not have a life anymore outside this. She has committed crimes, she has confessed to them publicly, and even dragged along the higher ups. And now, the police and government is not going to let her go and get away with it. So, she might as well become a part of the resistance!

Also, at the end of the last episode of season 4, she leaves a big clue about her ending up switching sides in the credits, by singing “Bella Ciao” in her own voice.

This was confirmed by the subtitles to the credits which read “Sierra singing ‘Bella Ciao’ in Spanish.”

This Italian song plays multiple times throughout the series and plays a huge role in the professor and his gang’s ideas of rebellion and resistance. It also became a summer hit across Europe in 2018.

So, it is particularly interesting for Sierra to be singing it herself.

Is this a signal for her character, to be leaning towards the other party’s ideas in the show? It seems the viewers will just have to wait to find that out, until season five gets released.

And maybe then, we’ll finally get to know what the future holds for Sierra and everyone else.

Until then, keep streaming Money Heist Season 1-4, only on Netflix.
