About Jo Koy
Joseph Glenn Herbert is a Filipino-American stand-up comic, popularly known as Jo Koy. He has appeared in many shows and gained a huge fan base for himself. Later he increased the number of his fans through Comedy Central and Netflix specials. Now the stand-up comic is looking forward his third Netflix original.
Joseph Glenn Herbert started his career as a stand-up comic in the year 1994 at a club in Las Vegas. He soon became a favourite delight for the people in Catch a Rising Star show at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. He appeared frequently on Chelsea Handler’s show, Chelsea Lately. The shoe has completed in fact 100 years.
He was the part of two highly-rated comedy specials on Comedy Central. His third comedy show aired in the year 2017 on Netflix. Another Netflix Original of him was Comin’ In Hot in the year 2019. He was a part of a lot of sold-out shows at the Theater at Solaire Resort and Casino in Paranaque City. Our famous comic has also performed at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City in 2017.
About the new show
This new show is not going to be all about only stand-up. It will bring a lot of new to the viewers and fans. The new show is going to be a mixture of food and culture where our well-known comedian will travel through the streets of the Philippines. In this show, he will introduce us “where it all started”, as he said in the trailer of the show.
The show Jo Koy: In His Elements depicts the trademark comedy of Jo Koy. The show revolves around Filipino foible and depicts his childhood with his Filipino mother in the US. In the show, he will also tell us about the rediscovery of his roots in the Philippines. Jo Koy says in the trailer that every element in the show is about Filipino. The viewers will see people playing street basketball and enthusing about chicken adobo.
In the new Netflix show, there will be other Filipino-Americans too. The list includes breakdancer Ronnie Abaldonado, Grammy-winning music producer Ramon “!llmind” Ibanga, Jr., and comedians Andrew Lopez and Joey Guila. The show Jo Koy: In His Elements will air on the Netflix on June 12.
