Gigi Hadid and Taylor Swift have been friends for years now. Working in the industry can be glamorous but it comes with added stress and anxiety. The 24-year-old model shared that she too undergoes stress and anxiety from time to time. Here’s what she told her singer friend, Taylor swift about managing stress and how she manages to stay grounded.
During a panel for her campaign for Rebook, #PerfectNever, Gigi opened up about her anxiety. She mentioned that she mostly deal with anxiety associated with the pressure of constantly being under the public eye. She revealed her battle with anxiety in 2016 where she was forced to take a break from social media. She said, ” I get anxiety before doing interviews right after something big happens. I feel almost suffocated by the world and the world’s opinions. Sometimes I have to sit myself down and be like, you are a good person.”
We are no stranger to the fact that Taylor too has a fair share of anxiety and stress due to constant trolling on social media. During an interview with Harper ‘s Bazaar, Taylor complimented Gigi on her ability to stay focused even during stressful times. She asked Gigi if she has always been able to do that and added, ” I’m seriously impressed that whenever you are in an immediate or stressful situation you fly into action.
Is that something that’s always been natural for you ?” To which Hadid replied, ” I’ve realized over time that I feel the freest when I express myself, whether through action, writing, or talking it out. Being honest always leads to something good, even if it’s a hard or awkward moment or conversation to get there. You can never go wrong with telling somehow how you feel and speaking your truth and you always learn something from it”.
