There’s been no word in HBO on if we could anticipate the show’s second season.
The pilot hit US screens on June 16, 2019, and also the first season landed in the United Kingdom on August 6 on Sky Atlantic and NowTV.
Filming for the second season was about to get underway but All This Terrible Business halted production, and there has been zero indication of when it’ll kick-off.
However, Zendaya has since indicated that there could be a”bridge” incident to plug the gap while we wait for season two.
“We’re trying to determine how to finally have the ability to create a year two that we are all really proud of, and also get all the best out of it which we want but also being really secure,” she informed Ben Platt on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“We may end up doing, like, a tiny bridge episode. I do not actually understand how to describe it, but an episode which we can do with a limited number of individuals in a safer environment which can, I do not know, give folks something.”
When will Euphoria Season 2 be released?
Season 1 might have aired in summer 2019, but it looks like Season 2 will probably be following a different release schedule for quite a few reasons. As with all of HBO’s releases, Euphoria’s creation was unfortunately placed on hold in March 2020 due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. “We’re supposed to go back to work, I believe, on March 16,” Zendaya informed Variety. “And, literally, three or four days before that, they had been shut down. I was like, I had been so close’ We did camera evaluations and makeup and hair tests, and we must see everyone and we had the sets were built.”
Despite at one point being”so close” to return to work, it’s now going to be quite a while until the cast and crew reunite on the place. Back in September 2020, HBO president Casey Bloys told Deadline that right now the community is planning to film Euphoria in early 2021. That means likely no new episodes until late 2021 or early 2022 at the oldest. Fans can rest easy that broadcasts have been certainly done along with the show just needs to shoot and undergo post-production, but it is definitely much later than people were originally hoping to watch Rue, Jules, and their classmates .
Euphoria Season 2 cast
It appears as Zendaya will return as Rue. (Though, forever, she is Meechee).
The celebrity responded to the show’s renewal on Twitter, writing: “Literally only got the telephone. Can not say thank you for the support we have seen, wow…”

An official Euphoria season two casting call revealed that a bunch of new characters will soon be joining the show, too. Here are some more details on what to expect:
“RAY: Male. 18+ to perform 17. Any ethnicity. Attractive in a real and accessible manner. Working course. Pure heart. Might be heading nowhere in life but includes a smile so real it’s not depressing. Scrappy but a fighter. Not verbose or educated — has all the words that he needs.
“AMI: Female. 18-20s. Drug addict. Stripper. Hates her boyfriend. Talks shit. Can’t read an area. Can make a terrible situation worse.
“SERENA: Female. 50s+, Caucasian. Sassy and demanding. A true character. The kind of lady who partied her entire life and attended every Whitesnake concert and today she’s many different hustles just to make a living”
What will Euphoria Season 2 be around?
Though Zendaya disclosed that Levinson has crafted a gorgeous second season in dialog with In Style in August of 2020, no concrete plot details are available, however. We can, however, suppose that after Rue’s relapse, the character will face an all-new struggle this time around. Levinson an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, affirmed that Rue definitely did not perish, but will need to obtain the strength to overcome her addiction.
I think Rue has a big journey before her, and a demanding one, Levinson stated to THR in 2019. It is not something I would like to cut short because people who Rue signifies to me personally as somebody who has battled with dependence and come out the other side, and because I presume that there’s a lot more to delve into and unpack regarding the effects of addiction on Rue and on her family and people around her. The possibilities are endless in many ways.
Unfortunately, crowds have had to wait longer for Euphoria’s second Season, but it’s apparent that if it airs on HBO, it will have been worth the wait.
