Disney cartoon Frozen 2 has landed the second-highest opening week of digital download sales ever in the united kingdom, as crowds turn to home entertainment throughout the Covid-19 lockdown.
The animated sequel recorded 218,700 digital downloads in its first week, topped only by Avengers: Endgame, that had 335,400 in August 2019, according to the Official Charts Company.
The strong performance follows the close of cinemas in the united kingdom, to slow the spread of coronavirus, while the nation was on total lockdown since Monday (March 23) with individuals told not to leave their homes except where needed.
It has also seen streaming platforms, including Curzon Home Cinema and MUBI, record figures and the early digital release of movies, such as Military Wives, as crowds seek out amusement from the house.
