James Francis Gunn Jr. is an American filmmaker and musician. Starting his career as a screenwriter in the mid-1990s, he contributed the scripts for Tromeo and Juliet, The Specials, Scooby-Doo and its sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, and the 2004 version of Dawn of the Dead.
It has already been more than seven months since we have last seen Guardians of the Galaxy in Marvel Studios Avengers: Endgame which was one of the most significant cinematic events of 2019 and also is the highest-grossing film of all time. Because of the major things that happened to the Guardians of the Galaxy in Infinity War and Endgame including Thor joining the team for their next space mission and most notably the death of Gamora and also her younger version lost somewhere in the present, a lot of GOTG fans are wondering how will those events change director James Gunn’s script for the forthcoming.
In a recent questions and answers session with the fans on Instagram, James Gunn has officially confirmed that although he always makes some changes on his scripts before any of his films go into production, the script he had already written for GOTG 3 will not be changing due to the events from Endgame. James Gunn further explained that he had already known what would happen in Endgame even before he started writing the third volume.
The space travelling team was most recently seen in the box office breaking Avengers: Endgame and while their next solo adventure does not have a release date, James Gunn’s completion of the script last year and with a production set for next year should see the film hit theatres sometime in the year 2022.
Let us hope that the movie will entertain its fans the same way it has always done and hope the best for the whole team.
