Deadly Crash Closes Traffic in Northwest Albuquerque

Traffic Closed After Deadly Crash in NW Albuquerque

Police say one person is dead and another is critically injured after two separate crashes in northeast Albuquerque.

The first crash happened near Louisiana Boulevard and Claremont Avenue around 1 p.m.

That crash involved two cars and left one person dead.

The second crash happened around 11 a.m. near Montgomery Boulevard and Washington Street. Police say a pedestrian was standing in the median in the middle of Montgomery and walked out in front of a car.

Police believe speed and alcohol and/or drugs were factors in that crash.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
