Netflix’s new documentary ‘Murder To Mercy: The Cyntoia Brown Story’ is all set to release on 29th April 2020. This documentary deals with the story of Cyntoia Brown. The 32 years old woman was released in 2019, after 15 years in the prison for a murder in self-defence.

She shot a 43 years old man who took her for sex trafficking. Well her lawyer said that it was a murder in self-defence. But prosecutors argued that she committed the crime to rob the man.

She fought for the mercy from the full life sentence. Her case drew the attention of big celebrities like Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Le Bron.

Brown said that she’s working on to share her story. She is in the process of revealing her part in a way it respects the woman she is now. But that has nothing to do with the creation of Netflix.

She took this incident to Instagram and wrote ‘ while I was still incarcerated, a producer who has old footage of me made a deal with Netflix, for an unauthorized documentary, set to be released soon’.¬†She later added that she and her husband were as surprised as any other person when they first heard about the documentary, because they didn’t participate in it anyway.

Netflix and the production company have not made any comment about it till now.
