Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) were charged with carrying within an officer who fired a Black man on the streets in this week’s episode of Chicago PD,’ which moved the series in a different direction.
Every time a second movie goes viral, what was designed to be a simple”Uber” excursion, as Voight describes it, becomes risky. At one of the Chicago Police Department’s protected houses, Ruzek and Atwater would await the white policeman, officer Wheelan.
On the other hand, the safe house is shortly targeted by two gunmen who claim to be after Wheelan, leading to rumours that it was an inside job as Atwater and Ruzek take Wheelan off the novels.
Tensions escalate as the series progresses, not just inside the police force but also between Ruzek and Atwater, who have opposing reactions to the shooting.
Previous Episodes Plot:
Thus far, the Chicago PD’ has failed to impress when it comes to dealing with police brutality. The Dick Wolf series, on the other hand, made a considerable and complex shift this week by showing equally Ruzek and Atwater’s views on the shooting.
It was convenient for Ruzek to brush off everything that had occurred as something that had nothing to do with him. But it was personal for Atwater, who has always felt like he’s competing for himself as the sole Black officer about the Intelligence Unit.
The episode was notable in that, though Ruzek distanced himself from Officer Wheelan, Atwater tried to challenge him despite Wheelan’s insistence he wasn’t racist.
By showing him that the next recording, Atwater aided Wheelan in seeing what he saw from a different perspective – that also prompted the officer to think that the video had been tampered with rather than acknowledge that he, too, had prejudice and that his shot had been misjudged.
Meanwhile, Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and Deputy Superintendent Samantha Miller (Nicole Ari Parker) continue to encourage Ruzek and Atwater for the time being. Miller stresses reciprocal confidence several times during their talks, and although it appears that they are getting along nicely, something might go wrong immediately.
Since’Chicago PD’ will return for a bit, the season’s ninth episode will probably air next Wednesday, March 17, in 10/9c.
Chicago PD Season 8 Episode 9 The Plot
When a small business owner is gunned down in his shop, it becomes private for Atwater, who patrolled the area as a young policeman, according to the official synopsis for another episode.
Samantha Miller, the deputy superintendent, comes to Voight using a special request for Andre Cooper. Thus far, Atwater has experienced a difficult season. It’s hard for a Black cop, and Atwater is the show’s saving grace.
In the next installment, we’d like to see how his story progresses, but most specifically, we’d like to see more relations between him and the other officers about the Intelligence Team. We don’t know what Miller’s special request is for Andre Cooper, a new character, but Voight can only take so far in regards to Miller’s orders.
