There is no official notification about the release of Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 8. However, fans are already looking into what’s going to be next for the comedy series. Fortunately, showrunner Dan Goor gives some hints of the show’s future.
He recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and it turns out that they are already meeting together via Zoom for Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 8.
Will fans see a coronavirus episode?
A question regarding whether the show will incorporate the current global situation into the next season is there. The show is set in Brooklyn which is currently one of the places in the U.S. greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many of the first responders in New York have also been hit by the deadly virus. As a show that features first responders, Goor says that they are already talking about the possibility of writing about the outbreak in one episode. He says that there is value to make the series corona-free and they don’t want to ignore the issue.
“There is a debate about what next year will look like,” says Goor. Goor also says that they are facing a challenge with how they will keep Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 8 funny while tackling the pandemic. In the end, the show-runner states that there is a possibility that there will be an episode or parts of episodes that will involve the issue.
JAKE AND AMY: PARENTING
Season 7 may have left with a non-cliffhanger ending. Though, fans are still wondering what it would be like for parenting. The season finale episode is showing Jake Peralta and Amy Santiago welcoming their son. Goor teases that they are going to make the characters’ parenthood as natural as possible.
He mentions that they are looking into bringing tensions such as balancing their careers and parenthood. They are not planning to spend 95 per cent of the time showing them in their house though. They are also looking into showing the dynamics of the odd-couple as parents. Season 8 is basically going to be touching a lot of the parenting for Jake and Amy.
EXPECTATIONS FROM Brooklyn Nine-Nine SEASON 8
Goor has a conversation with TVLine. He reveals that he wants to see more of Chelsea Peretti’s character Gina Linetti. He admits that they aren’t able to figure out a Gina episode in season 7. They are trying their level best to show more of her in Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 8.
