British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has taken steps to reduce social interaction to deal with the threat of the coronavirus. In a press conference held in London on Friday, Boris Johnson announced the closure of cafes, pubs, bars, restaurants, night clubs, theaters, cinemas, gyms and eating places. But during this time all the necessary services will continue. This decision taken in the direction of social distancing has come into force from the night of 20 March.
In a statement released, PM Boris Johnson said, “These are places where people come together, and the whole purpose of these businesses is to bring people together.” But the sad part is that for today at least physically, we need to keep people apart. ” He said that people should not get out after the decision is implemented.
PM Johnson said, “You may be thinking that you are invincible, but there is no need to say that you will get mild symptoms, and you can still be a carrier of the disease and give it to others, that’s why As long as possible, we want you to stay at home, in this way we can protect our health and save lives. ”
Earlier in a press conference on Thursday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the closure of schools from 20 March. Many exams have also been canceled.
PM Johnson had previously set a target of three months to deal with the coronavirus and sought support from the people, saying, “We will meet through this, and we will defeat this virus.” The more effectively we follow the advice given, the faster this country will be healthy and complete both economic reforms. ” However, even after PM Johnson’s announcement, some shops, banks, and some hotels are still open in London.
