There was an impressive concept that shows off star Blake Lively could look like Mera in the sequel of Aquaman.
Actress Amber Heard stunned critics and the comic book fans with her work as Mera, Arthur Curry’s love interest, and confidant in James Wan’s Aquaman. With the runaway critical and commercial success, it was not a surprise when a sequel was announced with Jason Momoa all set to return as the titular DC hero.
Currently, the sequel is set to hit the theatres in the winter of 2022, Amber Heard or Warner Bros have not officially announced that that the actress will be back as Mera.
While she is expected to reprise her role in the sequel, it is always fun to imagine who could be replacing her should the actress decide to part ways with the DC Universe.
Blake Lively, best known for starring in Gossip Girl is the perfect choice for one of the DC fans to replace Amber Heard as Mera for the sequel of Aquaman. In the artwork, Blake can be seen wearing Amber Heard’s Mera costume, from the first Aquaman movie.
Well, the concept design does a fantastic job of showing just easily Blake Lively could slip into the role of Mera perfectly. The fans would not be surprised if she was originally running to play the character of Mera in the first part.
Currently, there is no official news to indicate that Blake Lively will be taking on the role of Mera but should the production house need a replacement, they should know whom to call.
