‘You Are on Stolen Land’ Post by Black Lives Matter
Black Lives Matter (BLM) has been immensely criticized on Thanksgiving when it stated America as “stolen land.”
The organization stated, “You eat dried turkey and overcooked stuffing on stolen land.”
On Thursday, it wrote in a social media post that also had a graphic that reads, “Colonization never ended, it just became normalized,”
Later, the group requested the followers to “Find out what ancestral homeland you currently occupy” by checking a website.
Social Media Users Criticized the Organisation
Although the organization was mocked by several social media users, one Twitter user wrote, “But the founders of BLM own houses, shouldn’t you give them up first?”
Another user commented, “Then give up the money card jobs of your house and whatever else you own because this is all on stolen land as well.”
Yet another user stated while responding “Every square inch of land occupied on this planet has been stolen/conquered. You normalize generational victimization and it’s disgusting,”
According to reports, in June, it was clearly shown in pictures that the co-founder of BLM, Patrisse Cullors ultimately erected a wall encompassing her home worth $1.4 million following resigning amidst criticism about her lifestyle.
Previously, it was reported that Cullors “was busy modernizing her ‘Marxist’ mansion in the rustic but chic Topanga Canyon area of Los Angeles County amid the fallout from her $ 3 million real estate portfolio.”
According to the sources, in recent years, Cullors, a “trained Marxist,” allegedly purchased four homes as her activist profile gathered attention and people around the country started to protest.
Cullors Resigned After Growing Controversies
On the 27th of May, Cullors resigned from her role following growing controversies upon her personal wealth, “although she and the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) have denied it had anything to do with it.”
“Cullors’ involvement in property and the intention to protect it deserve to be noted because of his Marxist lean, which maintains that private property is the result of the oppression of the upper class by the lower class, according to l Marxist ideology.”
Social media users on Thursday also noted about their Thanksgiving meals, one user tweeted, “I didn’t have turkey, I had chicken. Which mansion did you send this from?”
