Away Season 1: A Brief Synopsis
The ‘Mars Joint initiative’ features a multinational crew on board; representing America was a trained astronaut who had to step back for medical restraints putting his wife, Emma Green; also trained alongside his husband in charge of command in his stead.
She was accompanied by a contemporary Chinese chemist, a Russian cosmonaut with the best experience in space, second -in -command medical officer from India, and a botanist of Britain.
The whole squad tries to corroborate this inoperable three-year-long mission; all of them doubting Emma’s efficiency but then perceives the value of unity for that unattainable goal as they subjugate all life-threatening challenges by putting everything at stake.
Away Season 1 Ending
In the last finale, their ship, Atlas is close to its landing on Mars against all odds, and Lu is entitled by CNSA to be the first one to step on it, Emma tries to get past her nightmare of the entire crew expiring in the fire on its first landing attempt and makes Lu use her privilege for Mei’s reinstatement.
Alexis reveals her knowledge of Isaac’s secrets to Matt alongside Melissa’s admission to him and Emma and Ram deal with the spewing tension between them.
At the mission control, all of their families have joined to observe their landing as the astronauts send out a message before buckling up for the descent.
Through all tribulations the ship makes its landing and being in that moment naturally called for a celebration. Despite the dicey future that we are yet to see in the later seasons, Lu lets Misha take her first step on Mars resounding her early sentiments that his rapidly deteriorating eyesight might make him the ”First true Martian”.
Keri insistent to prove the sustainability of Mars and verified their triumph to the Mission Control with their group photo, while CNSA is not approving of their noncompliance in the mission.
Turbulence appears to be gushing both on Earth and Mars as the crew combats with some edging struggles and the Mission Control mitigates the inter-conflict among countries.
