The images on the twitter were bang on.
The images from the shooting scenes of Avatar 2 will surely bring back your memories of swimming, treading and acting. The shooting scenes are looking like a back-breaking training of water polo. The recent behind the scene image included Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Kate Winslet and Cliff Curtis floating in a giant pool, wearing performance capture suits.
The 2008 Avatar was the highest-grossing movie of all times. Later, 2019 released Avengers: Endgame broke the record and dethroned Avatar. This made James Cameron to come up with a sequel. The 2008 movie revolved around the Jake Sully, the protagonist and the alien Neytiri. It uncovered the story across the jungles of Pandora. Now the sequel is planned to explore the oceans and life beneath the surface.
Cameron’s love for the deep levels.
James no doubt has a love for the deep levels under the surface. All his creations are generally driven by this love. As we can easily notice ‘The Abyss’, ‘Titanic’, and all the other handful of documentaries have the camera thousands of feet below the sea level. In fact, the avatar sequels are planned to depict his love for deep waters to the extreme. The sequels are now supposedly going to be four, in 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2027. Most of the sequel’s production actually took place in a 900,000-gallon tank. This tank is specifically built for Cameron’s production.
In the year 2017, Cameron told about all the trouble they go through while shooting such productions. He said, “We’ve done a tremendous amount of testing. We’ve been training the cast for six months now, with how to hold their breath, and they’re all up in the two-to-four-minute range. They’re all perfectly capable of acting underwater, very calmly while holding their breath. We’re not doing any of this on scuba an still beautiful character motion and great facial performance capture. We’ve basically cracked the code.”
Cameron’s unique shooting style.
No doubt that the shooting style of Cameron is quite exhausting. His style is till now untouched by anyone else. The Avatar 2 has revealed a lot of behind the scenes images till now that depict the reality behind the reel.
When asked about the reason behind the white balls floating on the surface of the water, the official Avatar team tweeted an explanation. It said that the balls block the reflection of water. The reflection can make the motion-capture cameras to detect false markers. The balls don’t allow the water to reflect and make false markers. These balls also allow the actors to come to the surface and breathe and survive.
Behind the scenes of Avatar 2 evokes the memories of The Abyss. The movie is considered to be one of the most taxing shoots in Hollywood. During the shooting of The Abyss star Ed Harris and Cameron almost drowned themselves.
However, till now Avatar sequel seems to be safer and canny production than the earlier ones. The Cameron has a track record of successfully combating all the risks in his style of shooting.
