James Cameron’s Avatar was once the highest-grossing domestic movie in history for a decade. From the year 2003 to 2019, the film held the title, until Avengers: Endgame came into the theatres and bumped it into second place.
The movie still holds the highest-grossing international record for a film, which is also a huge accomplishment, and the fans of the movie are waiting to see if the next four films will hold up as well, or even take back the title of the highest-grossing domestic film.
The actor Stephen Lang, who also played Colonel Miles in the first film and he is also signed to play the character in the upcoming sequels. He recently spoke to The National about the upcoming films.
When he was asked he said that, it is very satisfying to know that the character was valued enough and it also made enough of an impression to have Cameron.
And then when he was asked if he thinks that Avatar 2 will take back the title of highest-grossing, the actor simply said that ‘I Expect So’. It is cool that the actor Lang gets to come back to reprise his role, and he is sure working with the director on such an incredibly large scale project is like a dream come true for him.
The second part of the franchise is currently filming and the movie is expected to be hitting the theatres on December 17th, 2021. That means the fans of the franchise still have to wait more than one year now.
But it seems like they are still happy that the second part of the movie is coming soon after a long wait.
We hope that the second part won’t be disappointing us or the fans, as the director also said that it is going to be something different so we can expect that it will be more exciting and full of action.
