An Oklahoma state cop has been convicted of killing his chief police officer while attending a conference in a Florida beach town, as per the reports.
Mannford Police officer Michael Patrick Nealey, who is 49 years old, was taken into police custody earlier this week on murder charges stemming from the death of his boss, officer Lucky Miller, in Pensacola Beach, reported Newson6.
Authorities said that the two officers got into a physical fight on Sunday while attending the conference in Florida.
Deputies were called and were asked to come around 9:50 p.m. to the Hilton Inn, where Miller was found dead, the news reported.
Nealey was arrested and put into Escambia County Jail, where the police officer is held without bond, news station WEAR-TV reported.
The police chief’s reason behind death has not been disclosed.
“We are heartbroken by the news,” Tyler Buttram, Mayor of Mannford City, told Newson6. “Please keep both the family in your prayers as we tend to work to move forward.”
