The coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine (vaccine) will arrive much sooner than expected. US-based pharmaceutical company Moderna has been working on the testing of the Covid-19 vaccine for the last few years. This company announced on Monday that it will be able to make the vaccine soon, by the autumn season this year, in limited quantities. On Monday, the company submitted a disclosure report in this regard to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
The report cited the statement of Mordana CEO Stephen Bensel that he gave to a representative of Goldman Sachs. In this statement, Bensel said, “The commercially available vaccine will not be available for 12-18 months.” But this vaccine may be available to some people for emergency use, which may include those engaged in healthcare. And this will be possible only in the fall season of 2020.
The company is developing the anti-Covid19 vaccine mRNA-1273. The vaccine is based on research by researchers at the US-based Vaccine Research Center (VRC) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
On 16 March 2020, the first participant was given a dose in the work done on the Phase 1 study of the vaccine. Scientists and doctors are currently assessing the safety and resistance aspects of the dose. In this program, a healthy person will be given two doses of the vaccine in 28 days. According to the report, the study will include 45 healthy adults. “The vaccines will be made commercially available in the market after being monitored for 12 months.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Monday that the number of Covid-19 cases in the world has crossed three lakh.
