Altered Carbon season 2 Dark Political Twist Revealed

Spoiler: If you haven’t watched season 2 yet, this post is filled with spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Season 2 of Altered Carbon is back and running. This Netflix show made a buzz back in season 1 with its unique plot. For the uninitiated, I have got a few words: transferred consciousness, a murder mystery.

About Season 2:

The second season hits home hard. It creates an ironic view of our actual society where the rich keep getting richer and the poor go on being poorer. How? In the day to day operations of Harlan’s World, a stark view of the society can be seen.

The elites called Methusalians can afford high-end clones called “sleeves” and achieve immortality. On the other hand, lower-class fights for scraps and make do with weaker low-quality bodies. This shows a huge divide in the society.

This acted as a catalyst for the big war, planned centuries ago by Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry). This revolutionist initially invented stack tech, but seeing how her tech was repurposed for the rich made her take a rebellious path.

The fire of resistance was continued by Joshua Kemp (Matt Ellis) after her death. Things seem bleak after a ceasefire until Quell and both versions of Takeshi Kovacs (Anthony Mackie and Will Yun Lee) expose the truth.

To wrap it up..

Overall it is a humongous display of corrupt politicians, which has everyone shocked.

Altered Carbon stars  Anthony Mackie, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Lela Loren, Simone Missick, Chris Conner, Dina Shihabi and Torben Liebrecht, with Will Yun Lee and James Saito. Season 2 is currently available on Netflix.
