13 Reasons why, the Netflix original teen drama series has its storyline revolve around the lives of 17-year-old high school students with stories involving bullying, abuse, and murder.
The show also covers subjects like— teenage drinking, drug use, sexual assault, mental health, suicide, and teenage relationships aiming to spread general awareness regarding the same . The intriguing storyline has kept the audience follow the series from the very first season involving the suicide of Hannah Baker which was released on March 31, 2017.
The coming Season 4 is quite special since it is confirmed to be the last of the series as affirmed by Netflix in August 2019, having the 13 Reasons why fan base thrilled, excited and also fraught with ambiguity.
When will the season be aired? Who do we expect to see on-screen?
The release dates have not yet been revealed by Netflix but are expected by the end of the year 2020, though chances are the airing dates might sadly get pushed a little further on until early 2021 as well. The previous season was aired first on 23rd August 2019, along with the news of the release of the upcoming and final season of the series.
Just like all the other seasons, the 4th season is also quite surely expected to consist of 13 episodes each episode spanning roughly for 50 minutes to an hour.
Most of the cast is expected to appear in the new season, of course excluding Katherine Langford, who made her final appearance in season two and probably Justin Prentice and Timothy Granaderos since their characters were murdered in the previous season. New character appearances can be expected, just like Grace Saif in the previous season, but nothing as such has been revealed yet.
Season 4 plot: What to expect?
By the end of Season 3, the audience had been left with quite a few loose ends and many more questions. The main question however led to, “Will Bryce Walker seek justice?”
In the finale of season 3 we saw how Montgomery de la Cruz was framed for Bryce’s murder after Ani explains to Deputy Standall how his son, Alex Standall was involved in the murder and puts across how they’re trying to handle the situation, finally telling him—“Let the dead bury the dead.”
By the end though, Winston Williams turns up and confronts Ani about how they framed Monty regardless of him being innocent and about how immoral it was. He poses as Monty’s alibi and promises to seek justice for him. This left the audience on a cliffhanger of what might follow.
Season 4 is quite so expected to exhibit the consequences of the scandal the teenagers tried to pull off, alongside catching up with the side plots such as— ‘What will the resurfacing of Tyler’s hidden guns lead to?’, ‘ Would Tyler be set back to his previous troubled self on recovery of the guns?’ ‘Will Tony get back with his family?’, ‘ Will Alex get away with the murder?’ and many more.
Season 4 is going to be a thrill of a ride for the audience as they are driven to the series’ climax and answers to all the suspenseful questions be revealed.
